Château Eza, a 400 year old prince' s residence
An ancient chateau and royal sanctuary
Château Eza was built 400 years ago within the ancient walls of the 9th century village of Eze.
In modern times Chateau Eza was a residence of Prince William of Sweden and from 1923 to 1953, as an author, he did much of his writing in this location. His father Gustav V, and his brother, Gustav Adolf, were both kings of Sweden . The King of Sweden now is Carl Gustav, Prince William's nephew.
The present comforts of Château Eza were introduced by André Rochat, the Swiss owner from 1976 until the end of 1993, who completely modernized and renovated the chateau.
Today, Château Eza is a member of Stein Hotels and Resorts It is also the site of a Michelin-starred restaurant where the chef's culinary delights are rivaled only by the panoramic views of the French coast.
